Bracken County's first uni-horn was taken November 21st on the Fire on the Ridge Farm. Nice size buck but admittedly, a bit of a weany on the antler (1) size. He's resting comfortably in the freezer!

Been lazing about posting but....

People With Too Much Time on Their Hands (Gotta be retirees!!!)

In October in Cincinnati, lines once again formed well in advance of the grand opening of a Chick-fil-A restaurant, populated in part by out-of-town customers who chase openings around the country much as rock fans follow their favorite groups on tour. As usual, there were tents, sleeping bags, lawn furniture and portable generators in evidence. "We've been planning it for two weeks," said a 24-year-old woman from New Richmond, Ind., who was there with her grandmother. (The first 100 in line received coupons worth $260.) [Cincinnati Enquirer, 10-5-06]

OK, when the 2006 Bluegrass Red has it's grand arrival sale in early December, I want to hook up free coupons, hot dogs and salsa and have folks camp out at the Party Source in anticipation of getting a first run bottle.

So, beaten again, but this is the idea. Take pepper remains, left over liquid, grind and filter and Voila' - Bug Spray!

It's Sunday morning, November 5th. The mid-terms are two long days away, finally. We all seem to be past caring, can't watch local TV and have decided the whole process has become a joke. Ah well. I was asked to run a GOTV in Northern Kentucky by some old friends at AFSCME. I turned down the offer. Just can't get up for another roller coaster ride.

I decided when I started that I didn't want to politicize the blog too much. Just enough to show my major left of center, extreme liberal, occasionally radical roots, but not to be preachy in a democrat kinda way. However, while reading the Times this morning, I came on to this article in Vanity Fair; it speaks volumes about the people who ran the show from 2002 on and how far they're jumping now. It is a must read.
